What Causes a Lawn to Die?

Quality Lawn Service Tips

Every quality lawn service will tell you that water is vital to the health of a lawn, however, it is also the number one killer too. If you water too often, you run the risk of killing it. As a rule, we at Year Round Lawn & Landscaping, advise watering enough to wet the root zone on an infrequent basis. When your lawn is healthy and the soil is not compacted, give your lawn around 0.75 to 1 inch of water every week.

Soil compaction will also kill a lawn. It is important to till your grass before it has a chance to become established. All too often, people will only add a couple of inches of soil before they proceed to seed or sod. Instead, till to a depth of 6 to 8 inches before you do this.
